Sept 6th.Portland Grand Charity Fete at the Red Triangle.
Sept 7th.Weymouth The Great Samaritans Race at Weymouth College.
Sept 9th.Portland Dumble Bimble Fun Run from the YMCA at Reforne.
Sept 13th.Corfe Mullen Wessex Harmony Group ladies choir evening of song
at St Nicholas Church.
Sept 13th.Weymouth It's A Knock Out is back in aid of Marie Curie
Cancer Care from 11am to 4pm on Weymouth Beach.Challenge your rivals at dragon
racing, water splash, man on the moon, human table football and lots of other
inflatable fun and games. Later there will be a celebration prize giving and a bite
to eat at the Dorothy Inn. Teams need to have between 5 and 10 people.
The cost is £100 per team plus £500 in sponsorship, which will go towards
Marie Curie Cancer Care nursing service in Dorset.
Sept 12th-14th.End of the Road Festival.Larmer Tree Gardens.
Sept 13th-14th.Sturminster Newton Cheese Festival.Cheese Festival with 50+ traditional food stalls, 50+ craft stalls, real ale and real cider tents. live music, punch and judy, children's entertainment, cheese making, cheese tasting, cookery demonstrations etc. Open 10:00am to 5:00pm.
Sept 14th.Weymouth The third annual Jumbled Sprint Triathlon.
bike ride. Starting and finishing on Weymouth seafront with a transition area
by the Pavilion theatre. Fully marshalled event, free parking in the area,
toilets and showers, goodie bags, BBQ and bar at the finish.
Sept 17th. Gillingham Fashion Show at the Olive Bowl. Clothes from
Upper Cut and shoes from Shoe Envy. Both clothes and shows on sale after the show.
Sept 21st.Eggardon Kite Festival.Eggardon Hill.Bridport. is an iron-age hillfort with fine views across the county.situated 1 mile north of Askerswell village and 3 miles east of Bridport. This is the site of the famous annual Eggardon Kite Festival.
Sept 27th.-Oct 5th.Lyme Regis Arts Fest is now a biannual festival and will return in full in 2009. However this year to keep the momentum going Lyme Regis Arts Fest Artist’s have got together to create an exciting exhibition art trail in central Lyme Regis. Over 30 artists will be showing work in over 60 venues throughout the town. There will be at least 3 major mixed shows and also individual works by each artist in shops, businesses, pubs and hotels. It will be a major collaborative effort between artists and businesses and definitely worth a visit.
Sept 27th. Blandford Forum Michaelmas Craft Fayre at Tarrant Gunville Hall,
near Blandford Forum in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance.
Open from 10am until 3pm. Many local crafts and gifts, enjoy a cup of tea
and a slice of cake. Free entry.
Sept 28th. Wareham Marie Curie Ladies Driving Challenge at Bovington Army Camp.
Choose to drive a variety of vehicles on a circuit at the event site
there will be fire engines, articulated lorries, police cars, double decker buses,
combine harvesters, steam engines and more. Registration fee is £10 per person
with a sponsorship minimum of £100 each. For more information,

Oct 13th.Sherborne Pack Monday Fair.Main Streets Sherborne.Street market dating back to medieval times, held annually in Sherborne on the first Monday after 10th October – old Michaelmas Day. Although no longer an agricultural fair, it is still a major event in Sherborne with four of the town’s main streets becoming full of street traders and food stalls for the day, and a funfair is usually held on the edge of town on the Monday and the days preceding it.
Oct 16th. Enchanted Floodlit Gardens, Abbotsbury.Take a magical evening stroll along candle-lit pathways through enchanted glades...the Gardens stay open until 8.30pm for magical lighting, Christmas shopping and great food in the Old Colonial Tea-house.Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens Bullers Way.Abbotsbury.Dorset.Tel: 01305 871387.
Oct 18th-19th.Eat Dorset Food Fair at Parnham House.Beaminster Over 40 stalls offering a wide variety of delicious produce from all over Dorset and the surrounding counties. Leslie Waters and Mark Hix will both be demonstrating at the Fair on the Saturday.
Oct 25th-Nov2nd.Dorset Food Week.A weeklong celebration of all things mouth wateringly, sensually, irresistibly Dorset! The week that gives us all a great excuse to focus on the fabulous food and drink that is produced within and from the landscape of our wonderful county. This year every day will have a ‘Hotspot’, the place where the day’s activities will be focused, and so each day will have its own individual character reflecting the food, farming, landscape and rural culture from that particular Hotspot area. Nov 1st. Fireworks Extravaganza at Sherborne Castle.Now in its 27th year, one of the most spectacular fireworks displays to be found. Sherborne Castle hosts entertainments, live music, bar, refreshments and food from 4.30pm, bonfire 7pm, fireworks 7.30pm. Organised by Sherborne Area Youth & Community Centre.

It's a Knockout' is back for 2009!
So get your team of friends, family or colleagues together and join us on Saturday 12th September 2009 on Weymouth beach to take on your rivals, competing in a range of games including 'bungee run' 'minefield splash' and 'water pole joust'.
With a host of great music throughout the day, a witty compere and colourful inflatable props, a great day out is guaranteed for competitors and spectators.
Registration is £100 per team of 10, participants are asked to raise an additional £500 per team of 10 in sponsorship. All monies raised will stay locally in Dorset to help Marie Curie Cancer Care provide nursing care for people with cancer and other terminal illnesses.
